These are eight adventures that serve as prequels, or backstories, to the most excellent RPG: Phantasy Star II. Each game features one character, which you will also meet in Phantasy Star II. These games were released only in Japan, but I am playing the wonderful fan translations by M.I.J.E.T. Originally, these could only be downloaded via an optional modem that could be connected to the Sega Mega Drive (aka Sega Genesis). They were re-released on a couple disks for the Sega CD, along with other games. I really enjoyed these adventures.

Join Alec and Mina as they attempt to save Alec's father from the notorious Daedelus Bandits... or avenge him! This is a short RPG for the Sega Game Gear, only released in Japan. I am playing a fan translation, using the Kega Fusion emulator. I had some fun with this one.

Released only in Japan, this is a fan translation of the Game Gear rarity. I played this on the Kega Fusion emulator. It's a short adventure game with some RPG-themed combat. You receive a letter from a scientist friend of yours, Ken Miller, who wants you to check out the machine he made. He soon is abducted, and it's up to you to save him, using top quality items like branches and soft drinks. A short but sweet adventure.

Join me as I play through the VGA re-release of Quest For Glory I: So You Want to Be a Hero. I play as a Mage in this LP. Originally titled Hero's Quest, this RPG/Adventure Game hybrid was re-released in VGA, with a mouse-driven interface. Observe as I rid the town of Spielburg from it's curse of brigands and it's plague of monsters... or die trying.
I played this in tandem with The CRPG Addict and The Adventure Gamer. They blogged about the original EGA release of the game, while I did my Let's Play on the VGA re-release. Links to their blog posts can be found below.

• Amy, that's Earl Sinclair from the TV show Dinosaurs on ABC back in the early 90's. And yes, it is an easter egg. Congratulations!
• Sweet! Been looking for a Magic User walk through of this game :3
Khelben the somber archmage bids us to investigate the Church of Darkmoon. There have been disappearances and other strange goings-on in the vicinity. We soon find that the priests and priestesses are indeed behind the disappearances. I mean, come on, it's named "Darkmoon," for crying out loud! As expected, there is some dungeon-crawling, but the majority of the game consists of tower-crawling. Not that there's much difference, but this game is crazy fun anyway.
Just like with EotB1, someone named CFou! refurbished the original Amiga
game with the 256-color graphics from the IBM version. Here is the game
in all it's AGA glory. And don't forget the automap.

• Cool, you'll be doing this EOB as well. The general consensus is that #2
is the best of the series. I can't wait for your take on it, but first,
I've got some serious catching up to do on the second half of your EOB
I run... :-)
• Your faction with The Cult of the Diaper is taking a beating..
• it's interesting to see a 2-cleric party go through this game. i
resurrected san-raal and played 2 mages i think. this approach is good i
think - taghor is much tougher and doesn't die nearly as much =)
• fireball fun for all the family! 8)
• i saw the still and thought, that dwarf is on rhoids. lol
• tough tower this but great fun to watch. crazy hard monsters still to come - keep those protection spells up! 8)
• Amazing amount of work you went through in order to show
us this longplay. Thanks for putting in the hours. It was great to
relive this nostalgia trip once again. Keep up the good work and keep
more of this stuff coming.
• that was a really fun LP. very good entertainment! =) it was a heck of a
challenge to figure out the keys while fighting the toughest monster in
the game. i wonder if alain the ancient had touched amethyst would she
have reached lvl 12 before the end?
• Ah, This game brings memories too. Never finished it
tho. Watched my big brother play all of them through. And EotB3 was hard
nut to crack. Endless mazes and teleportations if i remember right. One
good dungeon crawler i might suggest is Bloodwych, we played it co-op a
lot when we were young... To think of it, there weren't many other
co-op crawlers. It has some nasty teleport, click buttons fast mazes too
:) Time to get some snacks and enjoy the show.
Join me in this, my sixth Let's Play, this time of the classic adventure
game from Revolution Software: Lure of the Temptress. I chose to play
the Amiga version, using an emulator called Winuae, since the sounds on
the PC are not so good (MIDI for the sound effects? Ugh.).
(Boot off of Lure of the Temptress_Disk0.adf. When it asks for "Disk A," put in Lure of the Temptress_Disk1.adf. "Disk B" is _Disk2.adf, and "Disk C" is _Disk3.adf.)
Please note that I did download a few other versions from other sites (including WHDLoad) and I could NOT get them to work at all.
For non-Amigans (or for someone who doesn't want to struggle with Winuae), you can download the PC version free from Good Old Games at the link below.

• It takes a lot of courage to do a "blind" LP of this game! :-)
